Smart Justice Young People Petition
409 Project

The primary principle is to divert young people aged 10-17 years old, who are in the early stages of offending from offending or re-offending.

The service and programmes consists of home-visits, agreed action plans, informal counselling, intensive 1:1 work, offence focussed interventions, structured group-work, advocacy (court support, appropriate adults) and personal developmental residentials. 85% - 89% of the young people do not offend or re-offend, whilst actively involved with the programme.

Currently the 409 Project provides Asset assessments for the Final Warning Panel in conjunction with Lambeth Youth Offending Team, as well as receiving referrals from Social Services, Education Department, Metropolitan Police, Schools off-site units, voluntary sector and self-referrals. They recently completed a Gang Intervention programme and is a member of the Lambeth Gun Crime Consortium
