Smart Justice Young People Petition
Pub Club

Teenagers in Kent are being invited to the pub each week in a bid to stem anti-social behaviour.

The Pub Club, based in the Wheatsheaf in Chatham, offers 11-18 year olds the chance to take part in traditional pub pastimes such as darts, pool and billiards as well as activites such as nail art.

The project, which is run by Kent Police and Medway Youth Services, also offers workshops on issues such as anti-social behaviour, drug awareness and binge-drinking.

It was set up in response to residents' complaints about large groups of young people hanging around the streets.

"This gives young people something construcitve to do in an atmosphere that is relaxed, safe and sociable," says youth worker Roy Smith.
