Elmore Anti-Social Behaviour Pilot, Oxford
Elmore Community Services is operating an innovative pilot
project to support people with mental health problems and multiple needs
at the earliest points of the anti-social behaviour process.
Working alongside the city of Oxford's Anti-Social Behaviour Teams, specialist
workers identify and support vulnerable people, improving their mental
well-being and reducing levels of anti-social behaviour. This pilot is
being evaluated by the Revolving Doors to establish its effectiveness
and potential for replication. In addition, through the development of
evidence-based policy messages, Elmore and Revolving Doors will seek to
influence wider service provision and Government policy
The Elmore Team have been in operation since 1989, working in Oxford City with people with multiple needs who do not fit into the services of other agencies. The model is highly innovative, they have gained national recognition for building a robust and successful service. They provide practical help, emotional support, advocacy and targeted outreach and are multiply funded by a range of statutory bodies.
The Elmore Team does great work with people who don't fit the network of mainstream services, and save thousands of pounds to the criminal justice system, and the health and social welfare.
